The Emantix platform at work.

At a very high level, the Emantix platform analyzes millions of words just to find the precise meaning of a single word.

Here's how it works:

First, we analyze content from any source or combinations of sources. Content sources can include web pages or entire websites; digital records, documents and files or archives and repositories; multimedia; database queries, and so on.

Next, we correlate the "raw" content with a domain-specific vocabulary (which we build from scratch, using data repositories that reflect the sensibilities and purpose of the domain) to produce a content word set. Together, the content word set and domain word sets are used to determine:

Meaning: by cross referencing word sets, correct definitions for all the words in the content word set are determined.

Context: collectively evaluating word meanings and looking for patterns and similarities across word sets establishes context.

Relevance: word sets again are used to produce a relevance ranking, so the most appropriate words gain prominence.

Concepts: the correlation of word sets reveal concepts that are themselves meaningful and relevant though they may not even appear in the source content.
